Virginia Beach, VA (July 1, 2022) – Virginia Rush is proud to announce the newest member to the full time coaching staff, Mike Kappas. Mike has been with the club most recently as Director of Goalkeeping. Mike started with the club as a recreational coach and over the many years worked as an Advanced coach, School of Excellence coach, competitive coach and recently Rush Select coach. Mike has learned about the club on every level and seen every aspect of the Rush on a local and national program level.
“I have gotten to know Mike over the last five years. He is a true Rush coach in every sense of the word and will be a wonderful addition to the club on a full time basis., said Matt Mittelstaedt, Technical Director.
Mike Kappas said “Been with the club for the last 17 years and coaching in all levels I am excited to become full time and look forward to growing with the club!
